Chandra Chakraborty

Achivements

Chandra has completed Sangeet Prabhakar and Sangeet Visharad in Rabindra Sangeet, Nazrul Geeti, and Kathak by the age of thirteen. She stood First in all Classical and Semi-Classical categories during the International Children’s Year and the International Year of Youth competitions.

She is a National Scholar and a Gold Medal recipient from All India Radio. Chandra has performed on several occasions for Queen Elizabeth II and was featured at the Miss Universe contest and Commonwealth Games Inauguration Ceremony.

Her performances span some of the world’s most prestigious venues, including the Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall, and Purcell Room in London, as well as Banga Sammelan (USA), performances across Pakistan and Bangladesh, Kala Mandir, and numerous renowned venues in Kolkata.

Her collaborative video album with Western folk artist Saskia Griffiths Moore has attracted over two million views, reflecting her ability to bridge classical South Asian music with global audiences.

Chandra continues to work with other notable Western music bands such as Yatra, London Chamber Orchestra, Opera Noth, Gamelon and Flamingo musicians. Chandra has performed several times at the House of Lords, House of Commons, Scottish and Welsh Parliament and she is the first Indian vocalist to perform at the Kugi Mountain festival, Italy.

Kalakar Arts UK

Kalakar Arts UK was founded by Chandra Chakraborty, promotes and works to restore lost heritage of South Asian Music.
